Learning Beyond the Classroom: Communication, Sustainability, and School Social Work in Practice
As part of the courses Sustainability and Plurilingualism, students gained practice-oriented insights into key fields of education and social support through two field visits.
The visit to ORF Landesstudio Salzburg focused on the role of media in communication and public discourse. Students explored how information is produced, structured, and conveyed to different audiences, and how media institutions contribute to shaping public understanding of social issues.
The visit to Verein Spektrum Salzburg highlighted school social work as a key support structure within the school environment. Students gained insights into the support of children and young people, the strengthening of social and language competences, and low-threshold assistance in challenging situations.
The excursions underlined the importance of practice-based learning for understanding processes in education, communication, and social support.
