Breaking Barriers Through Sport: ERASMUS+ Students at the Schoool Games

Our ERASMUS+ students recently had the opportunity to participate in the inspiring Schoool Games event in Salzburg, organized by the Austrian Disabled Sports Association. The participation took place as part of the course “Inclusive Sport Exchange”, which is one of the modules within our International Course Programme. The event brought together young people from different schools and backgrounds for a day filled with sports, fun, teamwork, and inclusion.

The programme featured a wide range of engaging activities, including boccia, football challenges, and the exciting strongman competition, where participants could test their strength, coordination, and determination in a supportive and motivating atmosphere. Our students enthusiastically joined the competitions and demonstrated not only sporting spirit but also remarkable team cohesion and encouragement for one another.

One of the highlights of the day was the unique inclusive environment that made every participant feel welcome and valued. The event clearly demonstrated how sport can connect people, overcome barriers, and create meaningful shared experiences. Beyond the competitions themselves, students had the chance to meet peers from other institutions, exchange experiences, and build new friendships.

For our ERASMUS+ group, participation in this event was much more than just a sports day. Through the “Inclusive Sport Exchange” course, students were able to experience inclusion in practice and reflect on the social importance of accessible sporting opportunities. The event perfectly complemented the objectives of our International Course Programme by promoting intercultural learning, collaboration, and social responsibility.

We are proud of our students for their active participation and positive attitude throughout the day. Their involvement made this event a memorable experience and further strengthened our commitment to inclusive education, international exchange, and the values of the ERASMUS+ programme.
